
Youth Work Ireland is recruiting for a COMMUNICATION ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (PT Position) (One year contract - 21 hours per week flexible) Youth Work Ireland is a Federation of 20 local youth services who deliver quality youth work programmes and projects to young people in Ireland. We are a rights-based and youth-led organisation and through our network we promote an open, inclusive integrated and accessible approach to working with and for young people. Location: Youth Work Ireland National Office, Dublin 1 with the option of remote working Contract Timeframe: One Year Contract (Subject to review after one year) Summary of Position: To communication and promote the work, ethos, values and impact of the work delivered by Youth Work Ireland National Office and our Member Youth Services: As part of the National Office team the Communications Administration Officer will communicate the events, achievements and outcomes of the work of Youth Work Ireland and its member services. This will require developing a communication strategy, blog posts, social media posts, flyers, event coordination, newsletters and other promotional and digital products. In co-operation with the team, the successful candidate will communicate our work to both internal and external stakeholders. The idea candidate should possess the following competencies:
Excellent writing, marketing and communications skills to include press releases, blog posts and social media content.
Excellent knowledge and experience of social media marketing, dissemination, and analytics.
Excellent graphic design or content creation skills.
Strong organisation skills.
Passion for advocacy, inclusion and diversity for young people.
Ability to act with discretion and always maintain confidentiality.
Strong appreciation and commitment to the ethos of volunteering.
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in national office, and other stakeholders in national.
An enthusiastic self-starter with a target driven approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
A demonstrated ability to work on their own initiative.
A personal commitment to the values, and ethos of Youth Work Ireland as outlined in our current strategic Statement
Qualifications / Experience
A qualification in social sciences, media, communications, or equivalent.
Understand the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc
Knowledge of Adobe Photo Shop, InDesign, Canva and Illustrator is an asset
Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts
Must be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal direction
