Young Social Innovators: Administrator, Learning and Practice Team


Position: Administrator, Learning and Practice Team Location: Young Social Innovators, DCU Alpha, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11 Report to: Social Innovation Programme Manager Contract: Full-time Young Social Innovators Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a national not for profit organisation providing transformative social innovation programmes for students primarily at post primary level in Ireland. Our social innovation programmes empower and strengthen youth voice and participation and develop active local and global citizens. The Opportunity and Purpose of Role YSI is looking for an Administrator to work as part of the Learning and Practice Team. This person will contribute and add value to a range of work within the team such as the organisation and support of YSIs’ Social Innovation Education Programmes; the Annual Education Calendar; reporting and data systems co-ordination, and school communications. The Person You will have experience in administration, organisation, dealing with customers, working as part of a team. An interest in education, youth development and working in the not for profit sector is an advantage Key areas of Focus

  • Administrative support to Learning and Practice Team

  • Administrative support for programme delivery

  • Support delivery of school communications plan

  • Assist in the creation of a calendar of activity and milestones for each of the programmes

  • Help organise and report on school engagement data

  • Organise the certification of students, educators and schools participating in each programme

  • Prepare summary information on selected projects

  • Manage electronic L&P filing system

  • Book accommodation, venues and refreshments for meetings and training as required

  • Support operational delivery of education offerings, including coordination of virtual events

Systems Administration

  • Administration support to the various IT systems including bespoke YSI System (training will be given), Google Suite, Microsoft Office

  • Troubleshooting with online components around online systems for programmes

  • Support to wider L&P team on use of systems

  • Data collation and report generation

  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

Skills Requirements Essential

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experienced IT skills in Microsoft Office suite

  • Good time management skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Experience of the not-for-profit sector

Candidate Profile Essential

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • An ability to work on your own initiative as well as an integral part of a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Desire to work with young people

Location: DCU Alpha, Glasnevin, Dublin 11 (post Covid) – this role can be offered as a hybrid role and will require 2 days attendance in DCU Alpha Office full time.
