Trainee Bookkeeper-Work Placement Experience Programme

The Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP) is a 6-month, 30 hour per week voluntary work experience programme. The programme is for jobseekers that are currently getting a qualifying social welfare payment and who have been unemployed for six months (156 days) or more.

The weekly rate of payment is €311.

Job Description

Small Accountancy Practice based in Dublin 9, currently seeking the work placement of a Trainee Bookkeeper. THE ROLE: - Recording of sales and purchase invoices - Preparation and completion of debtor, creditor and bank reconciliations - Preparation and submission of VAT, P30 and RCT returns and payroll from time to time - Dealing with Revenue on behalf of clients to resolve issues as they arise - Other analytical / reconciliation work as required Desirable: - Competent IT skills to include excel knowledge - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to work accurately and efficiently. - Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills


Role Description

This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: The applicant will receive training in all bookkeeping and office related activities to include: -Office phone systems -Sage cloud accounting packages -Sage desktop accounting packages -Cloud pay for payroll -QuickBooks online -Big Red book-both online and desktop versions -Excel and word -Revenue online system and My Account -Office filing systems -Various other packages as required by our clients
