1. Southside Partnership DLR

Southside Partnership Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown CLG is a local development company working towards an inclusive and just society, where each person is encouraged and enabled to reach their full potential and live with dignity in active, healthy and safe communities. We provide a comprehensive range of supports and services to people and communities who are experiencing some form of disadvantage or social exclusion throughout Dun Laoghaire Rathdown (DLR).

We support disadvantaged communities and individuals including unemployed people, people living in disadvantaged areas, people with disabilities, one parent families, people on a low income, members of the Traveller and Roma community, Ukrainian and International Protection applicants and other disadvantaged groups.

In order to provide these types of supports, Southside Partnership Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown (SSP DLR) operate a range of programmes and projects on behalf of specific funders including HSE funded initiatives such as Healthy Food Made Easy and Living Well with Dementia, as well as a project called Southside Addressing Violence Effectively (SAVE) funded by TUSLA and the Healthy Dún Laoghaire Rathdown programme, we seek to engage and collaborate with other interested parties and like-minded organisations.

SSP DLR has 26 funders the largest being the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) supporting the needs of over 619 direct participants with a further 2,500 further more people through trainings and supports including 47 Local Community Groups. Some 28 roles in SSP are supported through the programme. A new 5 year programme for SICAP programme will be established in 2024.

The Partnership also runs a Community Employment Scheme and a number of Tús schemes supported by the Department of Social Protection. For the past year the Partnership are running a part performance based contract (LAES) with funding from the Department of Social Protection.

SSP has attained the highest rating on the quality assurance Q Mark and on the Charity Governance Code.

We are excited to recruit for the role of Bookkeeping Officer.

2. Operational context

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Bookkeeper officer will be part of the finance team, working alongside the Payroll Officer, and Finance Officer.

3. Role and responsibilities

  • Reconciling funder income and expenditure accounts to bank nominal ledgers on Xero

  • Assist with funder reporting.

  • Assist with Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Petty cash monthly reconciliation and journal posting

  • Post Payment to supplier’s accounts on Xero

  • Assist with CRO, CRA and RBO filing.

  • Assisting with budget

  • Assist with apportionment and related VAT.

  • Helping with budget variance queries and adhoc activities, such as checking tax clearance, test checking procurement procedures.

4. Knowledge and Experience

  • A relevant Qualification

  • Prior bookkeeping experience

  • Experience with Xero or similar essential. Training will be offered on Xero

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent administration and IT

  • Self-starter with a process-improvement mindset

  • Ability to organise and manage time effectively and to prioritise workload to meet deadlines

5. Conditions of Employment

Salary Remuneration is based on a salary scale of Project Leader ranging from € 39,166 to € 50,204 Full Time Equivalent commensurate with experience. This is € 23,499 to €30,122 for a 3 days week.


Permanent contract subject to successful completion of a probation period
