
The Airport Search Unit Officer is a key role at Dublin Airport with responsibility for ensuring the secure, and efficient movement of passengers through the security process at Dublin Airport. Working as an Airport Search Unit Officer provides an excellent opportunity to build your career within an exciting and dynamic airport environment. We have three different contract types on offer as follows:
40 hours guaranteed weekly, but flexibility required to work shifts across a 7-day roster
30-40 hours weekly – 30 hours guaranteed but flexibility required to work up to 40 hours weekly as required across a 7-day roster
20-hour weekend contract – flexibility required to work various shifts across Fri/Sat/Sun
All contracts are offered on a permanent basis with rosters shared with employees one month in advance. The training duration for all contract types will be 5 weeks full-time (paid) In addition we offer:
Hourly rate for the role is currently €15.88 (inclusive of shift pay)
Annual Salary of €33,122.86

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screen all passengers, staff, contractors and visitors in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Screen all cabin baggage and items carried by staff, contractors and visitors.
Handle and store safely recovered items from the security screening process.
Provide passengers with information about regulatory requirements.
Provide an excellent passenger security screening process
Report any security screening issues or operational issues/faults with machinery to security management.
Control access to security restricted areas.
Examine vehicles and screen airport supplies with the aid of equipment, when necessary.
Comply with fire, health and safety requirements, reporting any concerns immediately.
Manage the supply of trays and the loading of passenger items into trays and onto conveyor belts.
Comply with the lost property procedure.
Provide assistance in the event of an airport emergency.
Undertake any reasonable duties as requested by Security Operations Management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Availability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, where flexibility is required (shifts can include night duties, bank holidays and early morning starts).
Ability to work in an environment where procedures and regulations must be adhered to
Excellent communication skills with an ability to read/write and comprehend English

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which requires stamina to be on your feet and a level of physical agility to perform screening effectively.
Achieve and maintain IAA Certification requirements
