Security Guard – Part Time

Purpose of Role The purpose of the role is to provide evening security for a busy Community Centre in Dublin 7

Pay €12.05 per hour

Hours of Work 18 hours per week / 3 evening shifts

Reporting to Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• To provide a security presence to all areas of the building

• To identify and de-escalate potentially harmful situations, such as case of verbal aggression and outbursts, and ensure that any person posing a threat to staff or Center users is removed from the building To carry out fire safety checks and reviews under the direction of the security supervisor

• To provide assistance to organisations and community groups using the centre

• To deal with requests from evening clients in relation to their room rental, and ensure they are complying with the terms of their booking

• To provide support to room co-ordinators in ensuring that equipment is moved in a safe manner while preparing rooms for bookings

• To adhere to the procedure for closing the building safely and ensuring that doors and windows are secure and alarm is on

• To understand and adhere to policies and procedures that relate to your role, including Fire Safety and Health and Safety

Person Specification

• Has experience in a similar role

• Holds a PSA license (we are open to providing this training for the right candidate)

• Is able to work on their own initiative

• Enjoys customer facing roles

• Is trustworthy and reliable

• Is interested in community development
