We are opening an Autism Class and we are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly Bus Escort, to join our team This would be in a part-time capacity to facilitate transport of students enrolled in the class for the school year. Applicants would need to be available in the morning before school and after school. (School begins at 8:40am and finishes at 3:40pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and 1:10 on Wed.). The successful candidate will need to work every day that the school is open. Hours will be confirmed when the route is confirmed. The job of a bus escort entails the following duties :
ensuring the safe transition of pupils with special needs from their homes to school and home again each day.
ensuring that each student is received by some responsible person at the set down point.
liaising with parents and staff daily.
ensuring all children are safe on school transport. (seating, harnesses, seat belts etc)
The appointment is subject to Garda vetting requirements. (by the school). Child Safeguarding online training with TUSLA. Additional relevant qualifications or courses would be beneficial (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies) Shortlisting will apply, only candidates selected, will be contacted.
