Job Title: Macra Skillnet Administrator Locations: Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12 (Hybrid Role) Contract Type: Permanent Reporting To: Skillnet Network manager Hours: 35 Hours per week About Macra na Feirme Macra na Feirme is a vibrant, independent, non-profit, national voluntary organisation for rural young people and young farmers between the ages of 17 and 35 engaged in youth development and training. The organisation consists of a nationwide network of clubs which support a range of activities in agriculture, sport, travel, public speaking and performing arts. Macra na Feirme is committed to the personal development of members and puts emphasis on social interaction and participation. Macra na Feirme employs 25 staff and involves hundreds of volunteers on a weekly and monthly basis in the delivery of services to members through almost 200 clubs across the country. About Macra Agricultural Skillnet Macra Agricultural Skillnet, established by our contracting organisation, Macra na Feirme in 2015 is one of the major networks serving our members, those involved in farming and a wide range of Agri businesses. Our purpose is to drive upskilling and sustainability on all levels in the industry. We achieve this by developing and delivering a wide-ranging programme of subsidised training events, further education and development opportunities. Macra Agricultural Skillnet significantly contributes to the work of Macra na Feirme through joint delivery across a range of programmes. The Network supports our Macra na Feirme clubs and regions, our Young Famer Development Groups and discussion groups in delivering and part funding local training needs which include workshops, information sessions and technical seminars. We work with private companies to deliver education and training opportunities to as many enterprises in the industry as possible. Among the partnerships we have established over the last number of years are those with the Irish Farmers Journal, Teagasc, ASA, UCD, Irish Grain and Feed Association, UCC and Farm Business Skillnet, where we delivered high impact education and training programmes. Main Responsibilities of the job The Macra Skillnet administrator will be responsible for the administration of Macra Skillnet. This is a full time post for the organisation, a key aspect of this role entails administration of all aspects of Macra Skillnet and supporting the Skillnet Network Manager in their role

  • Maintaining accurate and up to date training records

  • Liaising with both trainers and trainees as required

  • Updating platforms with learner and trainer data

  • Maintain accurate and update records for all procurement

  • Maintaining and updating budget spreadsheets

  • Other administrative tasks as required

Person Specification Qualifications This is a post that requires an individual with the ability to integrate into a team whilst at the same time being able to work independently. Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience of educational administration

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships.

  • Excellent MS Office skills.

  • Experience of working with disparate groups

  • Experience of working under their own initiative

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment

Terms and Conditions of Employment Location: Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12 (hybrid model of working). Salary: Subject to experience. Contract: Macra na Feirme is initially offering a permanent contract subject to the successful completion of a six month probationary period Annual Leave: 25 working days exclusive of public holidays (pro-rata). Travel & Subsistence: Travel & subsistence will be paid at public sector rates.
