
Trinity College Dublin seeks to appoint an assistant in the Library Shop and Online Fulfillment areas. Library Shop staff are an integral part of the Library / Visitors Attractions team and often the first point of contact a visitor will have with the Library. The appointee will join the team responsible for serving the one million visitors to the Old Library and Book of Kells Exhibitions annually. A panel will be formed from applicants not successful on this occasion but deemed appointable for future posts. In the event that a position becomes available within six months of the interview date, the candidates who are deemed appointable from this competition will be offered the next available post on the Library Shop team. This panel will only be open for six months from the date of interview, any position that becomes available after that time, will need to be applied for. Post Status: 2 year fixed term contract The hours of work offered are 37 hours per week with the current working hours 9am -5.30pm, five days out of seven on a rolling rota. Summer shifts will alternate as follows: Week 1 8am -4.30pm. Week 2 9.30am-6pm. Sunday & Public Holidays: Week 1: 9am-5pm. Week 2: 10am-6pm. Salary: Appointment will be made on the Library Shop Assistant 3 Merged salary scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy [ per annum]. New entrants to the public sector will be placed on the 1st point of this scale. During the months of May to September extended opening hours may be in operation and a shift allowance of 16.67% will be paid.
