IT Technician - Egis Projects Ireland


Egis Road and Tunnel Operation Ireland (ERTO) is an Irish company established in 2005 and is part of Egis Ireland. We manage Dublin Tunnel, Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork and the Motorway Traffic Control Centre (MTCC) for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). ERTO’s responsibility is to manage all processes associated with the Operation and Maintenance of Dublin Tunnel, Jack Lynch Tunnel and the MTCC. This includes Toll Collection, Traffic Management, Tunnel Safety Management, Emergency and Contingency Planning, Equipment and Infrastructure Inspection and Maintenance. We are located in the Dublin Tunnel Control Building on East Wall Road, Dublin 3. As part of the ERTO I.T. Team, you will:

  • Conduct all levels of end user technical support providing first level support

  • Create, modify, and maintain user accounts across various systems

  • Manage and support file services (NTFS permissions, Shares, AD groups, GPO and reporting on the same)

  • Installation and administration of servers, workstations, laptops, and printers.

  • Windows 10 and 11, Android and IOS experience

  • Installation and administration of MS Office applications (Including Microsoft 365)

  • Vulnerability and patch management

  • Management of print support and services

  • Install, maintain, and support audio-visual equipment and peripheral devices

  • Review and maintain logs (various systems/devices)

  • Manage and maintain backups and restores

  • Our customer’s experience is critical to us, so you must be service focused

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • You must have a strong work ethic

  • The 9 to 5 does not apply to you when you’re in your zone

  • 3 years’+ experience in a similar role in first level helpdesk support

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Fast learner and good logical thinking

  • Good investigative and reporting skills

  • Cyber-security is important to everyone so how can you help us

  • Diploma in related IT courses

  • Part of a regular on-call rota system for phone support and on-site call out

Technology that you will be exposed to:

  • Microsoft Windows (10 / 11) on laptops & desktops, VPN, Active Directory Services, Microsoft Exchange, MS SQL Servers, Web Services, Windows Server Environment

  • VMware Horizon desktops with Thin Clients (VMware VDI)

  • Infrastructure based on VMware (vSphere, ESX v7)

  • Storage (SAN/NAS)

  • Veeam backup services

  • Networking services and equipment (Cisco)

  • Security and remote access services (Sophos UTM)

  • Communication services (Phone System PABX, broadband connections)
