ISPCA helps volunteers develop new work skills and real-world expertise

The ISPCA could not carry out its vital work without our dedicated team of volunteers. Our volunteers are essential to the ISPCA’s work rescuing, rehabilitating and responsibly rehoming some of Ireland’s most cruelly neglected and abused animals. The love and care our volunteers give to the rescued animals that come into our centres go such a long way toward allowing those animals to eventually be adopted by new loving families.

The ISPCA is always looking for dedicated volunteers to help out at our National Animal Centre in Longford, our Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow, our Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Donegal and as well as our affiliated member societies who carry out vital work in many counties across Ireland.

To find an ISPCA-affiliated member society in your area, please visit our affiliated member's page here.

There are many benefits of becoming an ISPCA volunteer

By dedicating your time, skills and expertise to the ISPCA, you make an immense difference in your community.

Volunteers who help walk, feed and look after the animals in ISPCA care are helping our fight to end animal cruelty. ISPCA volunteers also meet and work with like-minded animal lovers, and gain valuable experience working in an animal welfare environment.

The ISPCA has a number of volunteer roles available to work hands-on with the animals in our cattery, kennels and stables. We are also looking for groundskeeping and maintenance volunteers, and people to help out at various events, or to do some fundraising!

To become an ISPCA volunteer, you must be over 16 years of age for insurance purposes.
