Location: The Macro Building, 1 Green St, Dublin 7 (Office-based/Hybrid options) Organisation: Irish Environmental Network (IEN) Contract: Part-time 1-year Contract (Renewable conditional on funding) Salary: €24,000 - €27,000 About the IEN The IEN is a network of 34 national environmental non-governmental organisations (eNGOs) that work to protect and enhance the environment and to place environmental issues centre stage in Ireland and internationally. You will work in a small, energetic team to shape policy and advance sustainable development principles. Overview of the role The Administrative Assistant will support the COO and CEO as part of a small team in a busy environmental NGO. The role is for 3 days per week, with at least 1 day in the office per week. Key responsibilities Accounts

  • Entering details into and preparing reports form the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems (SAGE One)

  • Checking and collating details for payment runs and entering details into the payment and banking systems

  • Supporting the team with any ad hoc financial queries

  • Supporting the financial operations of IEN projects

  • Working with the COO and Finance Sub-committee to manage the IEN finances and reporting

Office

  • Supporting the COO and CEO

  • Maintaining the IEN office and ensuring callers and visitors are dealt with efficiently and politely

  • Organising and supporting IEN meetings and events

Planning, Reporting and General Duties

  • Agree annual workplan, containing goals, objectives and key performance indicators with your line manager

  • Provide regular reports to your line manager as required

  • Attend weekly IEN Team meetings and meetings of the IEN/Pillar as appropriate

  • Circulate weekly priority lists to team members to share information and encourage collaboration

The successful candidate should have the following skills and attributes Essential/Desirable Skills

  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience

  • Strong track record of delivering high quality work on time

  • Ability to work unsupervised and to prioritise competing demands

  • Experience in using accounting software (SAGE an advantage)

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel

  • Understanding of Charities SORP reporting

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
