Hill Street Family Resource Centre: Receptionist / Administrator

Fulltime Receptionist / Administrator

(37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract)

Overall purpose of the Role:

Role Objectives:

  1. To Create a warm, friendly and positive experience for families and visitors, providing an effective, sensitive, caring and welcoming reception, dealing calmly and efficiently with a range of queries and providing information and advice about the Centre’s activities for parents/carers and visitors, signposting where necessary.

  2. To Increase the use of the Family Centre – to include income generation and promotion of the use of the Family Centre in the local community and coordinating the room booking system in the Centre.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • A qualification in Business Administration or equivalent work experience

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

  • An understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent CRM system

  • Excellent general office skills (answering phones, responding to emails, report writing/minute taking, preparing community notices, filing, maintaining diaries)

  • An appreciation and understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by working for a small organisation, including the need to be flexible and to proactively contribute to the work of the team

  • A good understanding of the local community and experience of working from a community development approach

  • Knowledge of working in an intercultural setting

  • Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own initiative

  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable skills:

  • Working knowledge of social media as an engagement tool

  • Fluency in more than one language
