Clerical Officer Grade IV - Post 1966


Post 1966 Clerical Officer Laboratory Services Department Full Time Permanent National Blood Centre, Dublin The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent, Clerical Officer based in the Laboratory Services Department, National Blood Centre. Essential Criteria

  • 2 years experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, and report writing skills with experience in secretarial support for meetings

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong technical, organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise workload and achieve deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary staff

Education / Min relevant Qualification

  • 2 years experience in a similar role

Required Competencies for the Role Getting the Job Done:

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, and report writing skills with experience in secretarial support for meetings

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrative attention to detail at a very high standard in all written work.

Managing Self:

  • Strong technical, organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise workload and achieve deadlines

  • Ability to observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of donor or laboratory information

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and within a multidisciplinary team

Working with Others:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with multidisciplinary staff

  • Strong ability to work on own initiative and also work within a multidisciplinary team

  • Fosters collaborative working relationships with multidisciplinary colleagues

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a medical/scientific setting

The salary scale attached to the post is the Grade IV scale scale €31,547 to €50,348 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience. The closing date for receipt of applications is 23.45 hrs (Irish Time) on 10th September 2023.
