
Administration Support Worker - Implementation of the National Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027 (12 months fixed-term contract) We seek enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to fill a position of Administration Support Worker- Implementation of the National Traveller Health Action Plan. The post holder will provide administrative support to in implementation of the National Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027. About Us This post will be based in the HSE National Social Inclusion Office, Mill Lane Palmerstown but managed by Cairde. Cairde is a health advocacy organisation working to tackle health inequality among ethnic minority communities by improving ethnic minority access to health services, and participation in health planning and delivery. The HSE National Social Inclusion Office (NSIO) supports equal access to Health Services for vulnerable Groups, including people experiencing addiction, homelessness, domestic and gender based violence as well as supporting intercultural, Traveller and Roma and LGBTI inclusion. As part of its work the NSIO supports implementation of the National Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027 (NTHAP) that sets out to address significant inequalities in Traveller Health over the five-year life of the plan. The National Traveller Health Implementation Group (NTHIG) has been established to drive implementation of the plan with support from Traveller Health staff in NSIO. NTHIG works closely with other Traveller health infrastructure including the Traveller Health Advisory Forum, and Traveller Health Units nationally as wells as other key stakeholders to support implementation of NTHAP. Administration Support Worker- Implementation of the National Traveller Health Action Plan 2022-2027 The post holder will report to the Grade VII project manager for Traveller Health or other nominated manager and encompasses administrative responsibilities which include the following: Administration
To maintain files and records of the National Traveller Health Implementation Group (NTHIG) and its sub-groups
To maintain files and records of Traveller Health project management work
To take minutes at meetings and prepare for timely circulation as required
To support the Traveller health project manager in the recording and tracking of implementation of NTHAP actions locally and nationally
To provide administrative support for events organised by NTHIG and its sub-groups
To provide support for NTHIG communications including newsletters and social media
To provide administrative support to the reporting function for NTHAP
To maintain databases and support the collection of data from Traveller health projects
to provide administrative support for NTHIG projects and programmes
to ensure accurate attention to detail in all assigned work
to ensure line management is kept informed of issues pertaining to the work
to ensure that deadlines are met and service levels maintained
to ensure that archives and records are accurate, maintained confidentially and readily available to the appropriate authority.
To ensure the efficient day-to-day administration support for NTHAP project manager.
Customer Service
Promote and maintain a customer focused environment and notifying Line Manager of any deficiencies
Ensure that service users are treated with dignity and respect
Act on feedback from service users / customers and report same to Line Manager
Service Delivery and Improvement
Embrace change and adapt local work practices accordingly
Monitor efficiency of service provided and report to the Traveller project manager
Post requirements Essential At least 1 year experience of working/volunteering in the Social Inclusion sector. This includes knowledge and understanding of the health issues affecting socially excluded groups. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Third level qualification at Level 7 or higher
Proven experience in office administration duties
Knowledge or experience of Traveller health is desirable. Skills
Excellent MS Office skills to include, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge and experience of using an email system effectively e.g. Outlook,
Ability to maintain and manage paper and digital files
The candidate should be well organised, able to co-ordinate and progress the tasks associated with the post on their own initiative, and be able to contribute to the on-going development and refinement of administrative processes.
