Location: Christchurch Square, Dublin City and HybridContract: Part Time, 22.5 hours per week and Specific Purpose Contract - 5 mornings, flexible start timeSalary: €15,030 - €23,282 Depending on Experience (This is the pro rata salary for 22.5 hours)

What will the Training Administrator do?

The Training Administrator will work within Barnardos’ Training Team to provide administration support to the Training Co-ordinator and team. Barnardos training department oversees the internal training plan for over 500 staff and the external training provided to other organisations on topics such as Child Protection, Supervision and Early Years’ Practice Development.

This role will specifically be involved in assisting the Training Co-ordinator to plan and organise tailored training for other organisations and fulfil finance and data management requirements associated with the events in line with funding requirements.

The Administrator will also prepare materials and liaise with trainers and organisational contacts before external training events to ensure that the training will run smoothly.

Job purpose

To provide an efficient and flexible administration support service to the training team for external training events, including managing resources for trainers and collecting, recording and reporting on data related to external training events and the training team.

To support the development and delivery of Barnardos external early years training programmes and events funded under the Early Years NDP (National Development Plan).

Personal attributes

  • Excellent IT skills. Ability in all relevant software packages.

  • Awareness of confidentiality and the ability to deal with sensitive queries.

  • Teamwork required and the ability to work in collaboration with others.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and to consult where appropriate.

  • Ability to prioritise competing demands.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and in a pressurised environment.

  • Strong organisational and logical skills required.

  • Creativity and enthusiasm.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in terms of tasks is essential for this post.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.


  • Minimum of two years’ directly relevant experience essential.

  • Previous experience of working in a training team or organising events is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with online meeting/ webinar platforms beneficial.

  • Understanding of the full training cycle is desirable.


  • Minimum Junior Cycle Certificate of Achievement or equivalent level of education.

  • Experience of using MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Access and Outlook essential.

The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Training team, National Office, Dublin 8 but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the Dublin area in line with Organisational needs.
