
Ireland’s leading children’s charity is recruiting: Administration Worker, Dublin Location: Support Service for Parents of Children in Care, National Office, Christchurch, Dublin 8 Contract: Fulltime (37 hours) and 5 year fixed term contract Salary: €23,650 - €36,637 DOE This Administration Position will support Barnardos services, the role is based at Barnardos National office in Christchurch, Dublin city. The Administration Worker will provide administration support to a new national service for advocacy and information needs of parents of children in care of the State. The service will be a pilot programme for 5 years, with robust evaluation built in to the pilot process. There are three parts to the service: 1. Advocacy Service for Parents of Children in Care The aim of the advocacy service for parents of children in care is to empower and enable parents to actively participate in the child protection and court systems, in an informed and supported manner. The advocacy service will operate from a neutral, professional, independent position, which is non-judgmental and one which parents experience as trustworthy. This service is parent focused, to support and empower parents, but it is important that decisions and discussions are informed by the child’s best interest. 2. Information Provision and Communications Service The aim of the information and communication component of this service is to produce accessible user- friendly information in a variety of formats to ensure the information is available to a broad range of parents. 3. Monitoring and Evaluation A new team is being established to provide this service. The Administration Worker will work with the team within the Service for Parents of Children in care. The team will include the Head of Service – (A Senior Manager of Support Service for Parents of Children in Care) based in Dublin, Parent Advocates of the Support Service for Parents of Children in Care – based in Dublin and the South East, a Researcher and an Information Officer. This is a terrific opportunity to be involved in the setup and delivery of a new and innovative national initiative. Job purpose To provide an efficient and flexible administrative support service to Support Service for Parents of Children in Care in an integrated way with the wider organisation. Experience
Minimum of two years’ directly relevant experience essential.
Qualifications
