Job Title: Administrative OfficerLocation: RCSI DublinReporting to: FutureNeuro Centre Mgr.Term of office: Specified Purpose - part-time 0.5 FTE, 5 yearsSalary: Commensurate with experienceAbout FutureNeuro and RCSIFutureNeuro is the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Research Centre for Chronic and Rare Neurological Diseases. Our Centre uniquely focuses on making discoveries and developing technologies that can solve the urgent, unmet needs of people living with neurological disorders and the health professionals who care for them, linked to Ireland's clinical care pathways. We aim to change the patient journey through our research. This includes developing rapid and accurate tools for diagnosis, the development of therapies to correct damaged brain networks, technologies to enable self-monitoring of health and well-being, and linking this to Ireland's national imaging, diagnostics and eHealth infrastructure based in our specialist care hospitals. We are multi-disciplinary, inter- institutional and work with industry, patient organisations and the health service to transform the lives of patients in Ireland and worldwide.Following an initial period (2017-2023) to establish a successful pre-clinical and clinical research programme with academic, clinical and industry partners, both nationally and internationally, FutureNeuro is now preparing to expand its research capabilities and the important support functions to ensure exponential growth. The successful candidate will join the core FutureNeuro Operations team, which is based at RCSI and supports the academic and clinical researchers across eights Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) to; deliver patient-informed innovative, multi-disciplinary translational research; to secure industry and competitive funding; and to champion the Centre's national and international engagement across world-leading research teams, industry partners, patient groups and the wider public audience.About the postWe are looking for an Administrative Officer to support the day-to-day running of the Centre. The candidate will join the FutureNeuro Operations Team, where they will interact with the wider research team to ensure the smooth running of the Centre.Primary duties includeThe successful candidate will provide end-to-end administrative support to the Centre Director, Centre Manager and other Centre staff as required, ensuring the effective running of the research programme and the delivery of a highly flexible, responsive and consistent service. Although the post-holder may be asked to take on other responsibilities as required during the growth and evolvement of the FutureNeuro Centre, the specific duties of the post are:• Support the Operations Manager with the general day-to-day administrative tasks linked to the successful delivery of the FutureNeuro Programme.• Plan, organise and diary all standing meetings for Executive, Governance meetings and associated committees and be responsible for minute-taking.• Provide support for the planning, organisation and delivery of key events in the FutureNeuro calendar, e.g. Research Day, International Site reviews, Public Engagement activities. Act as point-of-contact with other support departments within RCSI, e.g. porters, travel, catering, finance, events office.• Assist with the recruitment of research and support team members by liaising with support services such as estates, finance and IT to ensure smooth on-boarding. Act as point of contact to welcome all new team members and provide support to ensure that all new team-members across all eight HEIs are familiar with the general policies and procedures of FutureNeuro.• Provide support to the Executive and Operations teams to prepare for key reporting deadlines i.e. collection and collation of information, preparation for site reviews.• Handle administrative queries from Centre staff in relation to operational procedures; for example purchase orders, reporting deadlines, expense claims and room bookings.• Act as a key point of contact for external queries to the Center. Ensure queries are handled politely, accurately and in a professional, courteous and timely manner, and that agreed service levels are achieved.• Attend team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the team through sharing of information, effective teamwork, management and ownership of responsibilities.• Undergo programmes of training and development as required from time to time.• Represent the best interests of FutureNeuro at all times.• Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.rcsiar
